FuturHist - Tailored intervention solutions for future-proofing historic buildings

At FuturHist, the team researches and tests energy-efficient retrofit interventions tailored to historic building typologies. FuturHist implements these solutions in real-life demonstration cases in Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK, and focuses on innovative solutions such as bio‑based materials, internal insulation systems, window retrofits, HVAC, and RES integration.

INHERIT - Next Generation Solutions for Sustainable, Inclusive, Resource-efficient and Resilient Cultural Heritage

INHERIT is an EU-co-funded project that addresses the challenges concerning the preservation, restoration, and management of cultural heritage buildings. Its goal is to foster their environmental and social sustainability while preserving their cultural heritage value. INHERIT uses an integrated methodology based on social, scientific, and technological processes, including 11 ICT-based services that will be demonstrated in 8 cultural heritage sites across Europe.

CALECHE - Coherent, Acceptable, Low Emission Cultural Heritage Efficient Renovation

CALECHE is an EU funded project that dedicated to redefining the renovation of Europe’s cultural historic buildings. With around a quarter of Europe’s building stock bearing the distinguished title of 'historical', the CALECHE project was born out of necessity. These structures represent our collective history and are integral to the identity of cities and communities across the continent. However, the survival of these buildings' hinges on their continued relevance and adaptation to contemporary living standards—this is where CALECHE project steps in.
CALECHE project seeks to redefine the conservation narrative, transforming historic buildings into energy-efficient and sustainable living exemplars while staunchly preserving their cultural integrity. It is a delicate dance between modernity and tradition, and it leads with expertise and care.

HERIT4AGES - User-centric and data-driven retrofitting solutions for a resilient, energy-efficient, low-emission and inclusive cultural heritage

HERIT4AGES is a 48-month research project funded by the European Union in the Climate, Energy and Mobility programme under Grant Agreement No. 101123175. The main goal of the HERIT4AGES project is to develop and validate a set of technical and socially innovative sustainable energy and resource-efficient solutions, for the cost-effective improvement and preservation of the cultural heritage buildings.

The European Green Deal

The European Green Deal aims to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient economy, ensuring no greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, decoupling economic growth from resource use, and ensuring no place is left behind. The European Commission has adopted proposals to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, aiming to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy, ensuring no net emissions by 2050 and decoupling economic growth from resource use. One-third of the €1.8 trillion investments from the NextGenerationEU Recovery Plan and the EU’s seven-year budget will finance the European Green Deal.
