The HeriTACE Project officially launches

The kick-off meeting for the HeriTACE project took place in Ghent on February 5-6, 2024, bringing together a diverse team of experts dedicated to transforming heritage townhouses into energy-efficient assets while preserving their historical integrity. This two-day event marked the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at aligning with the EU Green Deal and New European Bauhaus objectives, focusing on sustainable, inclusive living environments in historical neighborhoods.


HeriTACE officially launches

During the two-day meeting, the HeriTACE team outlined the project's objectives, emphasizing the transformation of heritage townhouses into energy-efficient assets while preserving their historical integrity. Key presentations covered innovative solutions for deep renovations, focusing on energy-efficient building envelopes, optimizing indoor air quality, and clean energy supply concepts. Workshops on case studies and discussions on project management, replication, and dissemination strategies were also integral parts of the agenda.


The meeting achieved a clear roadmap for the project's next steps, with participants agreeing on communication protocols, planning WP meetings for 2024, and specifying local case studies for further research. The successful kick-off set a collaborative tone for the project, aligning with the EU Green Deal and New European Bauhaus objectives to ensure a sustainable future for historical neighborhoods.
